What are Water Based Coatings used for.

Have a need for coating or sealants, and environmental consciousness? The way to go then is with a water-based sealant. Other sealants like polyurethane or polysulfide may be somewhat damaging for the local environment, so water based may be your best choice.

As the name suggests, water based coatings are essentially water, and therefore, much more friendly then something like epoxy. This makes for a more modern, careful approach to sealants. Traditionally, products like the afore mentioned polyurethane and polysulfide sealants are more suited to industrial centers in cities and urban areas. If your facility is out in a forest, or somewhere more untamed, then you could be damaging it with the use of your coatings.

The practical advantages to water based sealants is all they have to do is evaporate and you’re set. This saves time over other alternatives, which sometimes have to sit for a long time to dry completely and be used again.

With environmental protection being such a big concern today, it may be time for you to consider water-based sealants instead of your older ones. There’s no time like the present to begin working to preserve.
